Former RTK managing director honored by Utah Business

June 19, 2020

In February, former Rio Tinto Kennecott managing director Marc Cameron was recognized by Utah Business Magazine as a top CEO in Utah for 2019. His formal recognition at the Utah Business CEO of the Year event was delayed due to the current climate of increased safety. Each year, Utah Business honors chief executives who have made it their mission to change the way we do business. While the event was delayed until today, the gratitude and admiration of all who have had the privilege to work with and around him couldn’t be changed, even with a new event date.

While this recognition by Utah Business was notable, Marc’s accomplishments have been lifting others in ways will continue long into the future. Marc recently helped Kennecott secure $1.5 billion in capital investment, preserving the future of our operation until 2032. As a leader, he assured that employees were challenged, inspired and could go home safely to their loved ones every day. His leadership style made it easy to find him in a hard hat alongside his teams. Congratulations Marc, for being selected by Utah Business as a top CEO in 2019. You’re a leader that doesn’t just move mountains, but moves people to be better.
